My Story

I'm a modern calligrapher based in West London and I specialise in creating beautiful hand painted wedding signs and on-the-day wedding stationery in my signature minimalist style.

My calligraphy journey began as a hobby in 2014 and really took a leap when I got married in Autumn 2016 - I made all of my own wedding stationery + signs and it was the best experience.

 

I always joke that the best part about getting married was creating my wedding stationery! Luckily my other half Jonathan is a very understanding man and lets me get away with saying that.

Using calligraphy to create my wedding stationery made me fall in love with weddings and the beauty of all the details that come together to make the day so magical. I saw with my own eyes what a big difference your stationery can make to your wedding, and so in 2021 I started Willow Rose from my living room in Ealing, West London.

​

I now work from a dedicated studio space (the living room was getting crowded!) where I create each hand painted sign, place card, and other wedding calligraphy pieces for my couples, each one unique to their wedding style.

 

Couples usually come to me for my simple and clean aesthetic style - I have always loved the minimalist and muted look. My colour palette consists of a lot of white, neutrals and dusty colours. I am hugely inspired by natural Scandinavian interiors and the concept of cosy living or "hygge", and this translates into my work as a wedding calligrapher.

When I'm not being creative, you can find me busy chasing around after my 3 year old, Oliver, or running my other yoga business.
